The Associate will support our global Leadership Recruiting (LR) team with their searches across all regions of the world as well as special team projects. S/he will be responsible for delivering on specific candidate(s) data requests, as well as recording and maintaining this information. The Associate will work effectively and efficiently on multiple, simultaneous requests through a combination of solid project management, proactive high-quality execution, and strong, team-oriented delivery against specific client needs. This individual will be privy to highly confidential candidate and internal Bain talent-related matters. Professionalism and discretion is an inherent attribute required for this role.

Support the global LR team in:

  • Researching using well-known online external sourcing tools, such as LinkedIn and internal databases to build talent prospect pipelines for searches and talent mappings. Typically 3 searches at a time are managed in addition to occasional discrete, quick turn-around requests (50%)
  • Developing and maintaining a repository of reference materials and direct sourcing tools/templates for the global LR team to leverage (20%)
  • Utilize existing recruiting systems and LinkedIn for data entry/tracking and reporting (20%)
  • Checking potential conflicts from the target list of companies and running due diligence on prospects for specific searches using Bain internal tools (10%)
  • Taking full ownership of all tasks assigned and executing work independently
  • Providing regular written and verbal updates using Excel and PowerPoint on status of talent research efforts to LR team and their stakeholders
  • Proactively communicating any potential issues with deadlines or problems with data accuracy
  • Identifying and participating in team initiatives, such as training, process/tool improvements and introducing new ideas/processes to tackle challenges related to talent research

  • BS, BA or equivalent undergraduate degree required with strong academic credentials along with exposure to database or list management and excellent secondary research skills
  • 0-2 years post MBA or 1-3 years post Bachelor’s degree working at a global organization, ideally in professional services and preferably in executive search
  • Proficient in using online secondary research sources including but not limited to LinkedIn, Factiva, OneSource, BoardEx, DB Hoovers, Zoominfo
  • Knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint and recruiting systems
  • Flawless attention to detail and very strong project management and problem-solving skills
  • Flexible to collaborate with and accommodate colleagues across offices and time zones around the world including adjusting the workday to start and end later
  • Excellent English communication skills (oral and written) and customer service skills to work with global customers
  • Collaborative, team oriented working style and ability to work with a diverse range of internal and client team members
  • Able to work independently and simultaneously across multiple projects at once
  • Intellectual curiosity and energetic attitude to learn and develop; desires to push individual boundaries, and an enthusiasm to discover creative solutions
