The Specialist, Digital Leads plays a critical role in Bain & Company’s commercial operations team.

 

The Specialist is responsible for responding to business inquiries and leads submitted through Bain.com. In this role, they are often Bain’s first point of contact with clients and prospects. They work collaboratively with teams and individuals throughout the firm to identify and nurture new business opportunities and inquiries. They utilize sales and market knowledge along with careful research to screen opportunities and proactively communicate, follow up, and track leads through with internal stakeholders. They ensure proper documentation of inbound requests and monitor trends that drive positive business outcomes. They will also help to bring innovation to Bain’s lead management processes and will have the opportunity to shape the future process as we integrate new pipeline management technology

 

The ideal candidate has a passion for marketing & and the role of digital outreach and communication. The candidate must communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and possess a natural intellectual curiosity about Bain’s business.

 

Responsibilities

 

Lead evaluation and management

  • Respond to Bain.com inbound business inquiries, under the direction of team leadership, with flawless customer service, diligence, and collaboration across internal teams
  • Perform online research related to leads and clearly synthesize findings to assist commercial teams in responding to Bain.com leads
  • Track lead progress within Bain’s digital platforms (CRM, Marketo, etc) and proactively surface opportunities for engagement

Operational excellency

  • Analyzes trends and monitors problem areas to identify areas for operational improvement with expert knowledge of required technologies (SQL and Excel) 
  • Evaluates current system design and features and propose functional improvements in the system to enhance overall user experience. Articulates clear recommendations on how to improve the interface/processes and thus quality of CRM output
  • Utilizes exceptional communication skills to develop program and deliver insights. Drives necessary process changes and facilitates brainstorming with impacted stakeholders to get to build consensus and resolve issues

Tracking and reporting

  • Track lead progress in Bain’s platforms and proactively surface opportunities for engagement
  • Prepares functional process updates to regularly report progress in a scheduled manner
  • Regularly report on Bain.com lead trends, outcomes and results

Process improvements and innovation

  • Identify opportunities to more effectively leverage Bain’s technology platforms (CRM, Marketo, etc) to screen, track and follow up on leads
  • Refine standard email responses and scripts to communicate more efficiently and effectively with clients and prospects
  • Update process documentation as needed
  • Research and evaluate best practices from other companies and new tools (AI, chatbots) to identify lead management innovations that could be useful to Bain
  • Deepen understanding and knowledge of the consulting industry and Bain’s offerings to better serve commercial teams

Provide support for other special projects and responsibilities as needed

Education

Degree level and area of specialization needed for the performance of this role’s Essential Functions

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Science or a related field is required
  • Preferred Master’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Science or a related field is highly desirable

Experience

Typical number of years/type of experience

Include the required number of years of overall experience as well as years of experience in a particular function (if applicable).

Required

  • Minimum six years of experience working in database systems in a professional services environment
  • Prior experience working with senior level customers/clients

Preferred

  • Experience using CRM systems or digital mailing systems will be preferred
  • Professional services or B2B experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Include specialized background and key competencies needed to perform the role.

Required

  • Exposure to databases and basic understanding of SQL logic required
  • Firsthand experience in secondary data research methodologies required
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to communicate succinctly at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong data analysis, problem solving and customer service skills
  • Ability to digest, synthesize and distill large quantities of information into concrete recommendations
  • Must be able to draft crisp, clear and concise email communications
  • Excellent customer management skills to work with global internal clients
  • Attention to detail, effective time management, commitment to high quality work and follow-up
  • Able to learn quickly, multi-task and work both independently and with a team
  • Interest in digital marketing/sales, data analysis and lead generation

Preferred

  • Experience using data visualization tools required, Tableau knowledge preferred
  • Familiarity with marketing automation and CRM platforms (e.g. Microsoft Dyna mics OR Salesforce)
