WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH


You’ll join the Product, Practice and Knowledge (PPK) department as part of the Knowledge Management team that supports various “Practices”. “Practices” are how we group and organize our solutions and products based on our clients’ industry or business function. They’re integral to how we win and deliver results to our clients, and are a key strategic priority within our firm. The Knowledge Management team is critical to harnessing the best of our consulting staffs’ individual and collective expertise, making it possible for us to deliver extraordinary results for our clients. Support Functions and Automation practice team is a part of one of the fastest growing practices at Bain, Performance Improvement. You will specialize in managing our latest and best IP on cross-industry topics including support function optimization (e.g. Finance, HR, Legal, Real Estate and Facilities) and cross-functional capabilities (e.g. Shared Services, Outsourcing, Process Redesign and Automation).

WHAT YOU’LL DO
We are looking for an individual who has a strong interest in the field of business operations/performance improvement and can own end-to-end knowledge management processes. You will play a leadership role in coordinating with other practices and work with both peers and leadership on projects supporting IP development and practice operations.


Responsibilities may include:


 Mine existing content and advise on the ‘best of’ experience at Bain
o Guide case teams and senior stakeholders towards the best available content for client selling and serving activities
o Develop a working knowledge of and connect teams to experts, tools and partnerships within the Bain network
o Collaborate with Bain’s Information Services and practice Centers of Excellence, to collectively provide consulting teams the best consolidated view of our internal and external knowledge
o Champion and promote solution-led product IP, events and resources that enhance the expertise of our global teams


 Own and manage the Support Function and Automation knowledge base
o Work with practice leadership to align on knowledge strategy, prioritization of content gaps and action plan for filling gaps
o Own tools and process for identifying and tracking gaps in our existing knowledge base
o Own implementation plan and lead efforts to fill gaps from practice sources and case teams


 Proactively augment our knowledge base in priority areas
o Write and review discrete pieces of IP, conduct focused research, and coordinate with subject matter experts to fill priority content gaps
o Work with consulting staff and other knowledge specialists to collect, codify, and manage prioritized knowledge on our global knowledge management platform; storyline or repackage content as required
o Manage end-to-end content lifecycle; apply taxonomy appropriately to cases and content, manage solution platform pages, and regular archive outdated material
o Oversee junior team member outputs; provide quality checks on processing and posting according to Bain Professional Standards


 Contribute to the execution of the Practice strategy
o Drive practice affiliate engagement and commercialization through the preparation of presentations, site content, slideware, newsletters and other communication mediums
o Analyze, understand and interpret underlying drivers of practice performance using commercial pipeline and revenue systems, executing and/or overseeing junior team member support of tracking and analysis
o Manage routine or create bespoke case and content analytics for senior audiences; support other practice operations and reporting duties as required


 Serve and contribute as a member of the global team and larger Bain community
o Prioritize and drive own work, communicate issues and progress to supervisor
o Provide coaching and development for more junior team members as appropriate
o Demonstrate flexibility with changing demands of the industry, the leadership team, and commercial demand for various products
o Adopt a mindset of supporting and contributing to Bain’s apprenticeship model (e.g. training, mentoring, projects)

WHO YOU ARE


 Undergraduate with 6-8 years of experience, post graduate with 4-6 years of experience with strong academic credentials
 Experience in a global professional services firm with exposure to one or more of the following disciplines: consulting, research and analysis, knowledge management, information services, strategic planning, business development, product development, and/or project management.
 Preferred 2+ years of relevant domain knowledge in any of the following: G&A cost reduction, Finance, HR, Legal, Shared Services, Process Redesign, Outsourcing or Automation
 Good business sense combined with structured problem-solving and analytical abilities
 Desire to work in a fast-paced and sometimes demanding professional environment; ability to juggle multiple priorities and work independently
 Results-focused with high sense of ownership
 Attentive to detail and organized
 Intellectually curious with a growth mindset
 Exceptional customer service attitude
 Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to engage with senior business executives
 Preferred experience working with a global team and reporting to a manager in another time zone
 Proficiency with Microsoft Office ecosystem (Powerpoint, Excel, Word, MS Teams); Preferred experience with advanced analytical tools such as Alteryx and Tableau
