About the role

Bain & Company is looking for a Nordic Finance Manager to join the Copenhagen team, reporting to our Senior Director, Business Planning and Strategy.
This role will suit an analytically strong profile who also has great interpersonal skills as the stakeholders are broadly distributed throughout the organisation.

The job is centred around 3 core elements: Planning, Development & Optimization.

  • Planning is both long term planning and short term outlook, working with the leadership team to align strategy and the road ahead as well as working with many entities to calibrate input across various business dimensions.
  • Development relates to building tools or efficiently supplying and modelling data from existing systems in order to provide better business insight and enable business optimization. We are in a post-merger phase where the future tools and processes are being defined to match business needs and fit into the overall global system.
  • Optimization is mainly related to the core business, interacting with the Partners, but could also be back-bone optimization initiatives.

There are crunch times through-out the month and year so a flexible attitude to workload and ability to effectively manage and prioritise multiple tasks is expected.

Key Responsibilities and Activities:

  • Business planning
    • Developing the business insight behind the quarterly business review cycles (Rolling Forecast)
    • Co-driving the annual 3 year business planning process + reforecasts including owning the model
    • Updating monthly forecasting to global Finance
  • Development
    • Constructing new tools in excel or self service PowerBI tools (the latter in cooperation with our Nordic system development manager)
    • Driving business efficiency improvement initiatives across internal business functions using your excel skills and business insight
  • Business optimization
    • Driving monthly high level and in depth analysis on practice and project performance
    • Investigating and resolving data issues
  • System specialist - Building Super-user capabilities within planning systems and tools
  • Ad hoc analysis for Finance, HR and Office head

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Proven business acumen via minimum 5 years prior experience from Finance and/or commercial entities – e.g. Business Partner, Commercial controller, Segment lead etc
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiar with PowerPoint
  • Fluent in English and preferably also another Scandinavian language
  • Solid educational background within business

Desired:

  • System experience (SAP or other financial system, Anaplan)
  • Experience with Tableau and PowerBI
